There are few homes built that are just right. Most have some glitches somewhere. There is a saying , " Build the first home for your enemy , the second for your friend and the third for yourself". I would suggest that perhaps 4 or 5 homes as practise would be good befor you build your dream home.

One of the biggest issues that we encounter as landscaper designers are the homes that have been built to low to the ground. One extra course of blocks on the sub floor may cost an extra $3 to $4000.00, but that can be a lot less costly than the fix ups that may eventuate in the future.

There are hundreds of examples of this situation.The majority of new homes are group home construction. They have no interest in what happens next, as long as they get completion and the final cheque. They will build in a swamp if they can, and they often do.
